Sirsa (Haryana) [India], September 26 (ANI): The Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) candidate from Dabwali assembly constituency Digvijay Chautala said on Thursday that he is learning a lot by spending time in villages while campaigning for the upcoming assembly elections.
He has started spending time in different villages around the area, saying that he is not willing to waste time during the assembly elections and is looking to understand the problems of the people by spending time with them in their villages and assisting them in their work.
He also said that he considers himself fortunate enough that the people in the region treat him as a younger member, and he gets a chance to go to different places.
"My main aim is that time should not be wasted amid the election routine. Along with this, I should know closely the basic needs and problems of the people of the area where I am contesting the election. It is my fortune that the families here treat me as their younger member, love me, and I get a chance to go to places in the entire belt and spend the night," he said while speaking to ANI.
He highlighted that spending the night also saves time, as he wakes up early to serve the cows, then spending time knowing the problems of the people.
"This saves time, I get up early in the morning and serve the cows, I am a cow servant. After that, we get a chance to spend some time with our young friends in the playground. We get to know about the problems of the sportspeople. After this, we have refreshments. If you work in a city, you will wake up at 9 AM or 10 AM, but in a rural area you will wake up at 6 AM, those 3 to 4 hours become really useful. You become closer to the village people and understand their problems. I am getting to know a lot and learn a lot, so this is a learning experience for me," he added.
JJP and Chandra Shekhar Azad's Azad Samaj Party (Kanshi Ram) have allied for the upcoming Haryana Assembly polls.
The alliance will contest all 90 Assembly constituencies in Haryana, with JJP competing on 70 seats and ASP on 20.
In the 2019 elections, the BJP, with 40 seats in the 90-member assembly, formed a coalition government with the JJP, which had won 10 seats, while the Congress secured 31 seats. Earlier this year, the BJP-JJP alliance was dissolved.
Voting for the 90-member legislative assembly in Haryana will be held on October 5. Votes will be counted on October 8 along with that in Jammu and Kashmir. (ANI)
