Hurriyat inviting 'terrorists' not 'tourists' to Kashmir: BJP
Jammu (J-K) [India], Dec. 7 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Ram Madhav today dubbed the separatists invitation to tourists and pilgrims to visit the valley as hypocrisy and sarcastically said that they must have mistaken tourists with terrorists. "I believe it's a spelling mistake, Hurriyat must have meant terrorists instead of tourists. No one believes in such kinds of statements made by the Hurriyat leaders. If they want peace in the Valley, they should refrain themselves from calendared statements," he said. "If they want tourists in the valley, they should stop terrorism. On one hand they promote terrorism and on the other hand they are creating dramas by making such claims. It is an absolute hypocrisy on the part of Hurriyat leadership," he added. The separatist leaders have in a surprise move invited tourists and pilgrims to visit the valley to enjoy the traditional hospitality of its people while promising them safety. Leaders of the two factions of Hurriyat Conference issued a joint statement asking people from outside to visit the Valley reminding them of the "exemplary hospitality" extended by the Kashmiris. The Kashmir Valley is witnessing continued turmoil since the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani in an encounter with the security forces on July 8. (ANI)
