New Delhi [India], August 17 (ANI): Reacting to former Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad’s remark that Hinduism existed before Islam, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and Rajya Sabha MP Manoj Jha on Thursday said that humanity should take precedence over all other considerations.
Azad's statement, that the Hindu religion had come before Islam led to a political debate amongst various parties.
Speaking to ANI, the RJD leader emphasized that "humanity should take precedence over all other considerations – whether it be religion, borders, nationality, or civilization."
He further said that "The answer to Azad's question lies in his own words. The path he is advocating will heal wounds of the past and cultivate a greener future."
Arguing against the divisive narrative that often stems from rigid religious perspectives, Jha proposed a simple yet profound idea. "Humanity arrived before religion did. Once this realisation permeates society, religious extremism will naturally wane," he stated.
Earlier, Former Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad said that "Hindu Religion is much older than Islam in India. Muslims in our country are because of conversion from Hindus and in Kashmir all Muslims were converted from Kashmiri Pandits. Everybody is born in Hindu Dharma only." (ANI)
