Imphal (Manipur) [India], April 15 (ANI): Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday said that PM Modi's priority is to maintain peace in Manipur in the coming days, while asserting that "no matter how much one tries- hum Manipur ko tutne nahi denge."
He criticized the Congress party for its divisive politics, accusing it of not only dividing the country but also attempting to split it into North India and South India.
Addressing a public rally in Imphal, Manipur, Amit Shah said, "...The most important thing is that no matter how much one tries- 'hum Manipur ko tutne nahi denge'....Congress has always given importance to the 'tukde tukde' gang...BJP has ended corruption in Manipur...In the coming days, PM Modi's priority is to maintain peace in Manipur..."
He further claimed that the Congress to divide Manipur.
"This election is not between BJP and Congress, it's an election between those who want to divide Manipur and those who want to keep Manipur united. The Congress party wherever it goes, talks about division. They have divided the country and now they want to divide the country into North India and South India. They (Congress) even have an agenda for the division of Manipur, but I say today, no one has the courage to divide Manipur," he said while addressing a public rally in Imphal, Manipur.
"Modi ji has made the country prosperous and secure in these ten years," he added.
The Union Home Minister stated that under the leadership of Narendra Modi, peace has been brought to the northeast region which has been long suffering from terrorism and separatism.
"Narendra Modi ji has brought peace to the northeast, which has been suffering from terrorism and separatism for 75 years. In these 10 years, Modi ji has lifted more than 25 crore people above the poverty line. He has provided free rice to 80 crore poor people, toilets in the homes of 12 crore poor people, houses to four crore people, gas cylinders to 10 crore people, and water from taps in the homes of 14 crore people," he said.
Shah stated that PM Modi believes Manipur's prosperity is key to India's prosperity.
"Modi ji says that the fate of the country will change when the fate of Manipur changes, the country will develop when our Manipur develops. For this reason, more than ten agreements have been made and more than 9000 militants have been eliminated. The Narendra Modi government have also worked to reduce AFSPA in Manipur. Many peace agreements have been made and the northeastern space application centre has been used to develop the entire northeast," he said.
Amit Shah lashed out at Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge, saying, "Kharge ji says, what will you do by going to a small state? Kharge ji, the Congress party does not know that small states are the soul of India," he said.
The Lok Sabha elections in Manipur will be held on 19 April and 26 April for the constituencies of Inner Manipur and Outer Manipur. (ANI)
