"Hum kisi se darte nahi hai...we are being targeted": Robert Vadra reaches ED office for second round of questioning

"Hum kisi se darte nahi hai...We are the target because we are relevant. Whether Rahul Gandhi is stopped in the parliament or I am stopped outside," Vadra told ANI just before going for questioning.

New Delhi [India], April 16 (ANI): On Tuesday, Businessman Robert Vadra accompanied by his wife, Wayand Lok Sabha MP Priyanka Gandhi, reached the Enforcement Directorate office in Delhi for the second round of questioning.
"Hum kisi se darte nahi hai...We are the target because we are relevant. Whether Rahul Gandhi is stopped in the parliament or I am stopped outside," Vadra told ANI just before going for questioning.
"I was surprised to see the second summons from the agency as I have already appeared 15 times before the agency regarding the same case. I was questioned for 10 hours, and I gave 23,000 documents. I showed my statements from 2019 to the agency, and you are asking the same questions that I answered in 2019, and the people of the agency were also shocked. I can just say that the agencies are being misused," Vadra added.
The Businessman claimed that former Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar had already given him a clean chit in the case.
"When this investigation was done in Haryana, the administration found that there was nothing wrong. Khattar ji gave me a clean chit in the same case. I fail to understand why I am being questioned after 7 years again..."
Vadra reached the ED office accompanied by his wife, Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi. The couple shared a hug just before he went in. Vadra claimed that despite being a target, he would come out stronger.
"We are the target for sure, but we are not the soft target; we are the hard target and will become harder...I will never call myself a soft target; whatever pressure is put on me, I will come stronger," he claimed.
He also dismissed any speculation on whether he might try to leave the country amid the questioning.
"I am not going to run away from the country. I will answer all the questions. I have no issues with using as many agencies as you want," he told ANI.
His comments come amid the ongoing investigation into the Gurugram land case, for which the ED has called Vadra to question him a second time in two days.
Earlier today, Vadra also took aim at the Bharatiya Janata Party, claiming that a 'witch hunt' and 'political vendetta' are being carried out against him and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. Vadra has maintained that he is innocent and that 'truth will prevail.'
"I'm here for any kind of unjust pressure. I believe in the truth, and truth will prevail," Vadra posted on Facebook.
He has also claimed that restrictions have been put on his "birthday week seva." Taking a veiled dig at the government, Vadra said that he would continue to fulfil people's basic needs until he was stopped from speaking against "injustice" towards minorities.
After hours of grilling yesterday (April 15), Vadra left the ED office and said that he had answered all the questions presented to him.
"All the questions which I have answered before are being answered again. There is no issue. I have nothing to hide. Everything is answered; everything will be answered again," he said.
He said that he submitted more than 20,000 documents to the agency in 2019, too, calling the summons "politically motivated."
Vadra said, "23,000 documents were submitted in 2019. The case that they are asking me about is a 20-year-old case. This is politically motivated. We abide by all the rules and regulations when we do any transaction. The ruling government always misuses the agency. They can ask me as many questions. I have nothing to hide. All is good." (ANI)
