Howrah: Confectionary serving sweets with party symbols

Howrah (West Bengal), Mar 22 (ANI): As Lok Sabha elections are inching closer, a confectionary in Howrah is serving sweets with symbols of political parties engraved on them to "raise awareness about voting".

Howrah (West Bengal), Mar 22 (ANI): As Lok Sabha elections are inching closer, a confectionary in Howrah is serving sweets with symbols of political parties engraved on them to "raise awareness about voting". 
The shop is filled with colourful sweets with different batches having different party symbols. Green and orange sweets representing BJP are placed next to its arch-rival CPM symbol engraved sweets. 
Speaking to ANI, shop owner Pradeep Haldar said, "As Election Commission has already announced the dates of election, I thought of creating awareness about voting through sweets, it will also enhance the profit. it's a new method." 
So far his sweets are, Haldar added, "people are choosing TMC and BJP sweets. As of now". 
The 17th Lok Sabha election will be held in seven phases beginning April 11. The final phase of voting will take place on May 19. The counting of votes will be done on May 23. (ANI)
