Ayodhya (Uttar Pradesh) [India], May 10 (ANI): In response to Maharashtra Congress chief Nana Patole's remarks that the Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir will be purified when the INDIA bloc comes to power at the Centre, the Head Priest of Hanumangarhi Temple Ramesh Das said that the Congress has gone "crazy" and they have become corrupt themselves.
"How will they purify Ram Mandir when they have become corrupt themselves? Their minds have stopped functioning. Narendra Modi is going to be the Prime Minister for the third time," Das said speaking to ANI on Friday.
Das said that Lord Ram is "ever-present" and cannot be tampered with.
"Lord Ram is ever present in his darbar. No one can demolish that. Can anyone play with Lord Ram? Lord Ram is ever present here. Lord Hanuman is also ever-present," he said.
The Head Priest argued that the minds of the Congress, the Samajwadi Party (SP) and the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) have become corrupt as they cannot digest the fact that Narendra Modi will be the Prime Minister for the third time.
"Since Narendra Modi is going to be the Prime Minister for the third time, the minds of Congress, SP and BSP have become corrupt. They have become frustrated. There will be no stain on PM Modi. The country will unite to shred the Congress," Das said.
Condemning Patole's remarks, the Head Priest said that the Congress never intended the Ram Mandir to be built.
"What Nana Patole is saying is condemnable. Since PM Modi is talking about winning more than 400 seats in the Lok Sabha elections, they (Congress) have become crazy. Nana Patole has gone crazy. He never wanted Ram Mandir to be constructed. If the Congress wanted Ram Mandir to be constructed it would have done so much earlier...They had ruled the country for 60 years and want to rule again but that is not going to happen," Das said.
Nana Patole triggered a political storm with his controversial statement that the Shankaryacharyas would be purifying the Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir following religious protocols when the Congress-led INDIA bloc comes to power at the Centre.
The 'Pran Pratishtha' of Shri Ram Lalla at Ayodhya's historic temple was held on January 22, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi performing the Vedic rituals, led by a group of priests.
The ceremony was attended by representatives of all major spiritual and religious sects in the country. People from all walks of life, including representatives of various tribal communities, attended the ceremony.
The Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir is constructed in the traditional 'Nagara' style. Its length (east-west) is 380 feet; width is 250 feet and height is 161 feet; and is supported by a total of 392 pillars and 44 doors. (ANI)
