New Delhi [India], Sept.5 (ANI): Concluding the two day visit to the restive Jammu and Kashmir, the Communist Party of India (Marxist) general secretary and one of the members of theall-party delegation, Sitaram Yechury on Monday said that he hopes the people of Kashmir will now understand the intentions of the delegation and the Hurriyat conference, who refused to talk with them. "We wanted to spread a message to the people of Kashmir that we, the representatives of Indian Parliament, want to talk with everyone with the intention of resolving the issue. We understand the pain and sadness of people of Kashmir," Yechury told ANI after landing back in Delhi. "We went there to meet them (Hurriyat) to talk, but they refused. I hope now people will understand," he added. Yechury further said that a meeting will be convened under the chairmanship of Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on 7th of September to decide the future course of action. Earlier today, Singh, while addressing a conference in Srinagar, said the Centre is making all efforts to bring normalcy in the state and is fully cooperating with the State Government. He said the all party delegation has expressed concern over the situation and everyone is of the view that things in Kashmir needs to improve. "As many as 200 people comprising 18 delegations interacted with the all-party delegation. They expressed their concerns over the situation in Kashmir and were of the opinion that the problems in the Valley should be resolved at the earliest. Besides, they also merited the attention of the all-party delegation towards the problems of the Jammu region," he said. The delegation was on a two-day visit of the state to deliberate over the prevailing restive situation in the Kashmir Valley and ways to bring normalcy there. (ANI)
