New Delhi [India], January 14 (ANI): Congress MP Manickam Tagore on Monday took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the deteriorating health condition of farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewall, who has been on a fast unto death since November 26 at the Khanauri border in Punjab.
"On the cusp of Pongal, a festival celebrating farmers and their sacrifices, Jagjit Singh Dallewal, a farmer leader, lies on his 47th day of a fast-unto-death. His demands are genuine, yet his health deteriorates with no aid or assurance," Tagore said in a post on X.

The Congress leader was reacting to PM Modi's post on X, where PM Modi shared a video of him taking part in the Sankranti and Pongal celebration program in the national capital.
Dallewal, the convener of the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (Non-Political), has been on a fast-unto-death at the Khanouri border to press the Centre to accept the farmers' demands, including a legal guarantee of minimum support price (MSP) for crops.
Earlier, in the day, the Prime Minister shared a video of last night on X, where he attended the Sankranti and Pongal program at the residence of his cabinet colleague and Union Coal Minister G Kishan Reddy.
"Yesterday, I took part in a very memorable Sankranti and Pongal program. May this festival strengthen the bonds of togetherness, bring prosperity and inspire us to celebrate our cultural traditions with joy and gratitude," PM Modi said in a post on X.
Sankranti, Lohri, Pongal, Magh Bihu, and Uttarayan are among the harvest festivals celebrated in diverse forms across the various regions of India and showcase a harmonious relationship with nature.
Lohri also includes the warmth of bonfires, delicious foods, and the sounds of folk melodies. (ANI)
