"His aspirations for Ram Rajya...": CM Yogi pays floral tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his death anniversary

The Chief Minister offered floral tributes at the statue of Bapu at GPO in the presence of school children who also paid their respects to the Mahatma through recitation of 'Bhajans'.

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], January 30 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his death anniversary.
The Chief Minister offered floral tributes at the statue of Bapu at GPO in the presence of school children who also paid their respects to the Mahatma through recitation of 'Bhajans'.
Remembering Mahatma Gandhi, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath wrote on his social media handle X and said that his aspirations for Ram Rajya and world peace are engrained in his teachings.
"Humble tribute to the unparalleled symbol of humanity, Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi, on his death anniversary. The profound thoughts of 'Pujya Bapu' pave the way for the fulfilment of the resolve of 'Ek Bharat - Shrestha Bharat' and 'Atmanirbhar Bharat'. His aspirations for Ram Rajya and world peace are engrained in his teachings," he said.
Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak, Minister Swatantra Dev Singh, Mayor Sushma Kharakwal, and MLA Mahendra Singh, among others, also paid their tribute during the program.
Earlier today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his 76th death anniversary at Rajghat in Delhi.
With the Prime Minister, other dignitaries were also present among which were, President Droupadi Murmu, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar and Defence Minister Rajnathsingh who paid floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi on his death anniversary at Rajghat in Delhi.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also took to X and paid his tribute to Mahatma Gandhi.
"Salute to Mahatma Gandhi ji on his death anniversary who awakened the spirit of Swadeshi in the hearts of the countrymen by following the path of truth and non-violence. Gandhi ji's messages of peace and harmony are relevant even today and his thoughts will continue to inspire countrymen to sacrifice and dedicate themselves to the nation," he said.
India observes Martyrs' Day every year on January 30 to mark the death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and to honour his contribution towards the freedom of the country.
On January 30, 1948, Mahatma Gandhi was assassinated by Nathuram Godse at Gandhi Smriti in Birla's house, months after India's independence. (ANI)
