Himachal CM's wife Kamlesh Thakur files nomination for Dehra assembly by-poll

Kamlesh Thakur, wife of Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and Congress candidate filed her nomination for the Dehra assembly by-poll on Friday.

Kangra (Himachal Pradesh) [India], June 22 (ANI): Kamlesh Thakur, wife of Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and Congress candidate filed her nomination for the Dehra assembly by-poll on Friday.
Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu was also present during her nomination.
"I will go among the people of Dehra and take their problems to the Chief Minister," Kamlesh Thakur said after filing her nomination for the Dehra assembly by-poll.
The by-elections have been announced by the Election Commission of India and the by-elections for Hamirpur, Nalagarh and Dehra assembly Constituency are scheduled for July 10, 2024.
Three independent MLAs Hoshiyar Singh from the Dehra Assembly constituency in Kangra district, Ashish Sharma from the Hamirpur Assembly constituency in Hamirpur district and KL Thakur from the Nalagarh Assembly constituency in Solan district submitted their resignations to the speaker on March 22, 2024, and joined the BJP after submitting their resignation.
They had earlier protested against the speaker demanding to accept their resignations and later approached in High Court in April this year.
The Speaker had accepted their resignation on June 3 and the ECI has notified by-elections in these assembly segments. (ANI)
