Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) [India], December 13 (ANI): Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu called for a thorough investigation into the Lok Sabha security breach that happened on Wednesday.
On the 22nd anniversary of the Parliament terror attack, two individuals reportedly jumped from the visitor's gallery during Zero Hour in Lok Sabha, prompting concerns about the efficacy of security measures in place.
"Such incidents should be checked thoroughly. We need to find out why unidentified men jumped from the visitor's gallery of Lok Sabha. What was their intention behind such an act, what do they want, we have to look into all these," CM Sukhu said during an interaction with reporters in Shimla.
Delhi police sources said that four out of six people who were involved in the Parliament security lapse have been detained, adding that a manhunt has already been launched for the remaining persons.
As per sources, six persons, out of whom five have been identified, came from outside the national capital and stayed at a residence in Gurugram, Haryana.
According to the police, on Wednesday afternoon, two men, both carrying canisters that emitted yellow smoke, jumped from the visitors' gallery into the Lok Sabha chamber before they were overpowered by the MPs. Simultaneously, two protestors -- Neelam (42) and Amol (25) -- protested outside the Parliament with similar gas canisters.
Delhi Police officials said that Neelam and Amol, who were detained from outside Parliament in front of Transport Bhawan, in preliminary investigations, revealed that they were not carrying mobile phones or any other identity proof.
Both have refused to have any connection with any organisation, police said. (ANI)
