Etah (Uttar Pradesh) [India], April 28 (ANI): Launching a scathing attack on Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Sunday that if things were under the SP chief's control, he would have fielded his family members on all the seats in Uttar Pradesh.
Addressing a public meeting here today, Shah said that after the completion of two phases of the Lok Sabha elections, the INDIA bloc is not able to mark victory on a single seat.
"Akhilesh himself is fighting from Kannauj, Dimple Yadav is fighting from Mainpuri, Akhilesh's nephew Akshay Yadav is fighting from Firozabad, Aditya Yadav from Badaun, Dharmendra Yadav in Azamgarh. If things were under his control, he would have made his family fight on all the seats in Uttar Pradesh," he said.
Amit Shah also pointed out that in the Samajwadi Party government, goons used to harass people, but in Yogi's government, the law and order situation has improved.
"After two phases of election, Modi ji has done the work of winning more than a century of seats. The account of the 'Ghamandiya' alliance has not even been opened," he added.
Further, lashing out at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over his remarks that the BJP will end the reservation system, the Home Minister said that the latter is spreading lies in the name of backward classes.
"Rahul Baba is spreading lies in the name of backward classes. He says that if BJP wins 400 seats, BJP will remove reservations in the country. He doesn't understand, that we had two full terms with an absolute majority to remove reservation, but Narendra Modi is a supporter of reservation. Today I will give you a Modi Guarantee that the SC, ST, and OBC reservation will neither be removed by the BJP nor will we let anyone else do that," Amit Shah said.
Shah also recalled that it was Babu ji (Kalyan Singh) who took up the cause of the welfare of the backward classes and the poor but his government collapsed because of Mulayam Singh.
"But when Narendra Modi became PM, he left no stone unturned in the progress of the backward classes and the poor. Congress has always attacked the reservation of SC, ST and OBCs, but Modi ji has always worked for their upliftment," the Home Minister said.
"80 crore people are coming out of the poverty line, three crore people have been given houses and gas connections are being provided to every house. Congress has opened a factory of lies," he added. (ANI)
