"He wants to divert attention...": Jairam Ramesh on PM Modi's "Muslim League" remark on Congress

New Delhi [India], April 6 (ANI): Coming hard on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "Congress manifesto completely bears the imprint of Muslim League ideology" remark, Jairam Ramesh on Saturday said that Syama Prasad Mukherjee, president of the Hindu Mahasabha formed the government in Bengal, Sindh and Northwest Frontier Province in 1941,42 and 1943 in alliance with the Muslim League.
In a video, Jairam said that PM Modi never talks about public concerns and just want to divert the attention from real issues.
"The Prime Minister never talks about the public; he wants to divert attention from what the public issues, farmers' issues, youth issues, women's issues, and workers' issues are, which is the reality of the 10 years of injustice. They gave a clean chit to China and because of that clean chit, we have become weak today. The Prime Minister says that Congress adopted the policy of the Muslim League, let me remind the Prime Minister, in 1940, 1941 and 42, which person, which party, was in the coalition government with the Muslim League, in Bengal. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, who was the founder of the Jana Sangh, was the President of the Hindu Mahasabha and he formed a coalition government with the Muslim League. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said that the opposition party is cut off from the hopes and aspirations of today's India and its manifesto reflects the thinking that Muslim League had during the freedom movement.
In his first reaction to Congress manifesto released yesterday, PM Modi said it "completely bears the imprint of the Muslim League" and the remaining part is dominated by the Leftists.
"You would have seen, the way Congress released its manifesto yesterday, it proved that today's Congress is cut off from the aspirations and expectations of today's India. The manifesto released by Congress reflects the same thinking that was prevalent in the Muslim League during the freedom struggle.
