Moradabad (Uttar Pradesh) [India], October 2 (ANI): Samajwadi Party leader ST Hasan on Wednesday came out in support of party member Mehboob Ali after his remark that "the population of Muslims is increasing and the BJP's rule will come to an end soon," stating that he jokes a lot.
He also said that if Hindus practice family planning, then it will take 2000 years for the Muslims to become equal to Hindus.
"He jokes a lot, he must have made fun of someone... He also knows this, I also know, if the Muslims of our country do not do family planning at all and all the Hindu brothers do family planning, then it will take 2000 years for the Muslims to become equal to Hindu brothers... I think before 2000 years, either judgement day or Pralay (end of the world) will arrive, given our current situation, " Hasan told ANI.
Samajwadi Party MLA Mehboob Ali has sparked a political row in Uttar Pradesh after reportedly addressing a public gathering in Bijnor, where he stated that the population of Muslims is increasing and that the BJP's rule will come to an end soon.
Following Samajwadi Party MLA Mehboob Ali's remark, authorities registered an FIR against him and Bijnor Samajwadi Party chief Shaikh Zakir Hussain in connection with Ali's alleged statement during his public address at an event. The FIR states that the MLA made a statement "promoting enmity and hatred between Hindus and Muslims on the basis of religion."
Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya condemned Ali's statement, asserting that the BJP government is in place in Uttar Pradesh and the country, and it will continue to exist.
Speaking to ANI, " Deputy CM Maurya said, "The government of BJP has not been formed because of them, so it will not come to an end because of them. There is BJP government in Uttar Pradesh and the country. And it will exist." (ANI)
