Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], May 1 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Congress Chief Jitu Patwari on Wednesday came down heavily on state cabinet minister Govind Singh Rajput over his remark claiming the congress chief will join the BJP saying "Govind Rajput is unconscious and will talk to him only when he regains consciousness".
On Tuesday, state minister Rajput claimed that lakhs of Congress leaders were joining the BJP across the country and if it continued, by May 7, Jitu Patwari would also join BJP.
Congress leader Patwari said, "Govind Rajput is unconscious. There may be various reasons for unconsciousness; it may be due to being in power or other reasons as well. I will talk when he regains consciousness."
State Minister Govind Singh Rajput said, "This is the first time I'm seeing that Lok Sabha candidates are withdrawing their names, and some are even leaving Congress. Jitendra (Jitu) Patwari was the one who nominated a candidate of his choice from Indore, and now when that candidate has withdrawn his candidature, Jitendra (Jitu) Patwari says he has been poached. Lakhs of Congress leaders are joining the BJP across the country. And if this continues, by May 7, Jitu Patwari will also join BJP."
Meanwhile, when asked about the BJP's complaint to the Chief Electoral Officer against Rahul Gandhi, the Congress leader said, is it an insult to hold a copy of the Constitution in hand and speak of its protection?
"Is it an insult to hold the copy of the Constitution in hand and speak of its protection? After 75 years of freedom in the country, there is a debate to save democracy, reservation, constitution, and voting rights. If the common man thinks his fundamental rights, political rights, and reservation are in danger. BJP can't get rid of it," he added.
State BJP President VD Sharma complained to the state Chief Electoral Officer and demanded action against Rahul Gandhi for contempt of the Constitution.
"During the rally in Bhind, not only the Constitution of the country has been insulted, but an attempt was also made to incite violence and anarchy by misleading and inciting people," Sharma wrote in the complaint letter.
Besides, targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the congress leader said that the PM did not have any positive aspects to tell in the last 10 years and he had hatred.
"PM Modi does not have any positive aspects to tell in the last 10 years. He has hatred, division and seeking votes on the basis of religion and caste. Ten years ago, he used to speak about 'Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas Sabka Vishwas', did he forget it? Has he forgotten the whole nation is his family? Has he forgotten it and has been serving hatred to get into power? The whole country is watching and will teach him the lesson," Patwari added.
Lok Sabha polls in Madhya Pradesh are being conducted in four phases. The first phase of polling was held on April 19 and the second phase concluded on April 26.
The next two phases will be conducted on May 7 and May 13. The counting of seven phases of polling will be held on June 4. (ANI)
