New Delhi [India], February 2 (ANI): Assam Chief Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Himanta Biswa Sarma hit out at Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday, for his alleged involvement in the now-scrapped Delhi excise policy scam, urging the voters to cast their votes accordingly to "free Delhi from Arvind Kejriwal."
Addressing a rally at Adarsh Nagar Assembly constituency, Sarma said, "We have to free Delhi. We have to free Delhi from people like Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia and Satyendra Jain and form a double-engine government in Delhi."
Further taking a jibe at various AAP leaders, he said that he never has seen anyone else as shameless as the AAP chief.
"I have met many people, but never seen anyone so shameless. When he came out of jail, he should have covered his face, and gone to an ashram for a month or so, but instead, he told reporters he did not go to jail for a liquor scam, but instead cause of Swadhinata Sangram (War of Independence), as if he is a freedom fighter," the Assam CM said.
Earlier, Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar also expressed confidence in the BJP's victory in the upcoming Delhi assembly elections.

"I can say with full confidence that this time the BJP government will be formed (in Delhi) with an absolute majority," Khattar told reporters.
Khattar also claimed that the party is set to win at least 90 per cent of seats in the Delhi rural area.
In a recent development regarding the excise policy, Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has authorized the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to initiate prosecution against former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and former Deputy CM Manish Sisodia under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) for their alleged involvement in money laundering linked to the liquor scam case.
The move comes as the two leaders are out on bail in the case as the Supreme Court in September last year ordered Arvind Kejriwal to be released on regular bail as well as Manish Sisodia.
Adarsh Nagar assembly constituency will have a triangular contest between BJP's Raj Kumar Bhatia, AAP's Rakesh Kumar Goel and Congress' Shivank Singal
The Delhi Assembly elections are scheduled to take place on February 5, with the vote counting on February 8. (ANI)
