"Have decided to move court": SP's Bijendra Singh alleges "BJP practised dishonesty" in Aligarh LS seat

Aligarh (Uttar Pradesh) [India], June 6 (ANI): Samajwadi Party candidate from Aligarh Lok Sabha seat, Chaudhary Bijendra Singh on Thursday alleged that "BJP practised dishonesty" in the recently concluded elections and decided to move to court.
"BJP practised dishonesty in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. I have decided to move court. My lawyer is also ready. They won't be spared," said Chaudhary Bijendra Singh.
BJP candidate Satish Gautam won from Aligarh. This is his third consecutive term in Aligarh. Singh further accused that the officials were pressurised by the PMO and demanded recounting of votes.
"The officials were working fine initially but they got pressurised later on. They also received pressure from the PMO. They were persuaded by the big leaders," he added further.
Speaking about th involvement of the district magistrate, he said, "Even if the DM says that there was no poll malpractice, the officials in his team know it well. I demand a recount."
Notably, in a closely contested race, BJP's Satish Kumar Gautam garnered 5,01,834 votes while SP's Bijendra Singh got Bijendra Singh. Gautam won by 15,647 votes.
In the closest fight of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Shiv Sena candidate Ravindra Waikar defeated Shiv Sena (UBT) Amol Gajanan Kirtikar by 48 votes in the Mumbai North-West seat.
Meanwhile, after the BJP's below-par performance in the Lok Sabha polls in Uttar Pradesh, the SP leader Shivpal Yadav on Thursday took a dig at the BJP and claimed if elections were held today, the SP government would be formed in the state.
"BJP should resign on moral grounds. So many candidates of the Samajwadi party under the leadership of Akhilesh Yadav have won, that if elections are held in Uttar Pradesh today, the Samajwadi Party government will be formed in the state," Yadav told ANI.
"The people have chosen the biggest devotee of Lord Ram with a record number of votes," Shivpal Yadav added.
The counting of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections was held on Tuesday. According to the Election Commission of India, the Samajwadi Party (SP) won 37 seats, BJP won 33, Congress won 6, Rashtriya Lok Dal - RLD won 2, Aazad Samaj Party (Kanshi Ram) and Apna Dal (Soneylal) won 1 seat each in the Lok Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh.
