New Delhi [India],Oct. 28(ANI): Former external affairs minister and senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Yashwant Sinha on Friday said that his recently concluded meeting with the separatist leaders in Srinagar helped him in getting a clearer idea of the untoward happenings in the Kashmir Valley and added that he would convey his perspective to Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh.

New Delhi [India],Oct. 28(ANI): Former external affairs minister and senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Yashwant Sinha on Friday said that his recently concluded meeting with the separatist leaders in Srinagar helped him in getting a clearer idea of the untoward happenings in the Kashmir Valley and added that he would convey his perspective to Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh. Speaking to ANI, he said "I met a large number of people not just separatists. In our individual capacity we decided to go to Srinagar and meet as many people who are ready to meet us." "We listened to their grievances and we were not sponsored by anyone, we had gone there in our individual capacities. We got clearer idea of what is happening in Kashmir Valley and it will be our duty to convey all that we have seen and felt to the Home Minister Rajnath Singh,"Sinha added. Earlier, Yashwant Sinha who led a five-member team to Srinagar for talks with a cross section of society, including separatist leaders had said that "there is a need to understand the pain of Kashmiris to deliver relief to them". The team included former bureaucrat Wajahat Habibullah, who served in Jammu and Kashmir, ex-Air Vice Marshal Kapil Kak, journalist Bharat Bhushan and activist Sushobha Barve. The team led by Sinha tried to break the ice in Kashmir, which has recently witnessed violent protests for over three months. (ANI)
