Gurugram (Haryana) [India], September 15 (ANI): Rao Narbir Singh, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate from the Badshahpur assembly constituency, expressed confidence in winning the upcoming Haryana Assembly elections and pledged to repair all the state's roads if the BJP comes to power.
Speaking to ANI, he said, "From 2014 to 2019, I was the MLA from here (Badshahpur) and also became a minister in the government. The schemes that were implemented during this period had never been introduced in Badshahpur before."
Addressing the issue of anti-incumbency, he stated that he trusts the people will recognise the implemented schemes and vote for the party.
"People are mainly frustrated with the poor condition of the roads. The Public Works Department (PwD) office was under the control of the JJP for five years, which is why the roads were neglected. This is the reason for their anger," the BJP leader said.
"But when I was the PwD minister for five years, there were no potholes, so people believe that if I return as minister, all the roads will be repaired," he added.
He also touched on the issue of unemployment, noting the ongoing development in Gurgaon and promising that more jobs would be created if the BJP were re-elected.
"In the state, industrial townships are being developed, and people are finding jobs. In Gurgaon, individuals from across the country come here for employment, and the government supports this. We will ensure enough jobs are created so that everyone can be employed," he said.
Discussing employment opportunities from infrastructure projects in Gurgaon, he added, "Gurgaon is an IT hub, home to the headquarters of over 400 multinational companies, creating significant employment. The infrastructure development overseen by the Prime Minister also passes through Gurgaon, providing jobs through these projects and masterplans."
He acknowledged that while the level of development expected by the people of Gurgaon had not been fully achieved, he remained confident that the BJP would be favoured over the Congress.
"I agree that the development expectations for Gurgaon over the last five years were not fully met. However, I still believe that people understand that, compared to Congress, the BJP has done more for the region, which is why they prefer the BJP," he said.
Voting for Haryana's 90-member legislative assembly will take place on October 5, with the votes being counted on October 8, along with those in Jammu and Kashmir. (ANI)
