Chandigarh (Haryana) [India], June 10 (ANI): The Haryana Congress is holding a meeting presided over by Leader of Opposition in Haryana Assembly Bhupinder Singh Hooda and Haryana Congress chief Uday Bhan on Monday.
Congress party MLAs and newly elected party MPs from Haryana are present at the meeting.
In the meeting, the results of the Lok Sabha elections and the upcoming Haryana assembly elections are expected to be discussed. The MLAs and MPs from Haryana are expected to strategize on the upcoming assembly election in the meeting.
Having wrested five seats from the BJP in the Lok Sabha polls in the state, the Congress has started gearing up for upcoming Assembly elections.
The party leaders have started assessing the strong and weak booths to strengthen their base for the Assembly polls, besides holding meetings to express their gratitude. Haryana is expected to hit the poll in the later part of the year.
Earlier on Thursday, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini took oath as MLA of Karnal at the Haryana Assembly complex under the administration of Assembly Speaker, Gyan Chand Gupta.
Nayab Singh Saini had recently won the assembly by-elections in the Karnal assembly constituency.
Earlier, he was serving as the Member of Parliament from Kurukshetra Lok Sabha constituency and was sworn in as Chief Minister of the state just before the announcement of Lok Sabha election dates. He also served as the state president of Haryana BJP.

The BJP registered a vote share of 46.11 per cent while the Congress registered a vote share of 43.67 per cent and its alliance partner the Aam Admi Party registered a vote share of 3.94 per cent. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections the BJP had won all 10 seats from the state.
Earlier, amid the elections in May, in a setback to the ruling government of BJP in Haryana, three Independent MLAs announced that they have withdrawn their support to the Nayab Singh Saini-led government in the state.
The three independent MLAs that withdrew their support from the BJP-led government include Dharam Pal Gondher, Randhir Golan and Sombir Sangwan.
