Haryana assembly polls: BJP's Rohtash Jangra withdraws candidature from Sirsa

Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Rohtash Jangra withdrew his nomination from the Sirsa constituency on Monday ahead of the Haryana Assembly Polls, which are scheduled to take place on October 5.

Sirsa (Haryana) [India], September 16 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Rohtash Jangra withdrew his nomination from the Sirsa constituency on Monday ahead of the Haryana Assembly Polls, which are scheduled to take place on October 5.
Speaking to ANI, Jangra said that he withdrew his candidature following the orders of the party.
"I have withdrawn my nomination papers from the Sirsa assembly constituency following the orders of the party. I filed my nomination on the orders of the party and I am now withdrawing my name on their orders as well," he said.
On the same matter, BJP leader Ashok Tanwar said that it was the decision of the party for Jangra to withdraw his candidature.

He further stated that Jangra's family had been dedicated to the service of the nation and the BJP for the past 45 years and that the next course of action would be decided in a meeting following this.
"It was the decision of the party and Rohtash Jangra has withdrawn his nomination papers. Our main aim is to keep the state away from the Congress's politics of lies and deception... His family has been dedicated to the service of the nation and the BJP for the past 45 years. The next course of action will be decided in the meeting," Tanwar said.
Voting for the 90-member legislative assembly in Haryana will be held on October 5, and the last date for filing nominations is September 12. The counting of votes will be held on October 8.
In the 2019 assembly polls, the BJP became the single-largest party with 40 seats and Congress won 30 seats. (ANI)
