Harsimrat Badal slams 'selfish' Sidhu
Amritsar (Punjab) [India], Jan 16 (ANI): Coming down heavily on ex-party man Navjot Singh Sidhu for castigating the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD)-led Punjab Government, Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal on Monday said that the former should be ashamed for joining hands with a party which wrecked genocide on the Sikh community. Harsimrat Badal told ANI it is baffling to see Sidhu switch sides with the grand old party. "Sidhu ji, who calls himself a proud Sikh, is bowing in front of a party which attacked the golden temple, he should be ashamed of himself. Congratulations to Sidhu sahab who calls it 'ghar wapasi' to go to a party that wrecked genocide on the Sikh community," said Harsimrat Badal. "It is amazing to see that how Sidhu Sahab, who used to mock Congress, Sonia Gandhi, Manmohan Singh has now joined hands with the Congress. He is a selfish man. He is doing all this to satisfy his selfish political motives. Some people have their feet in three boats, sometimes BJP, Congress and why not go ahead a little into Pakistan," she added. Further taking on Sidhu and Congress for alleging that Punjab's youth is affected by drugs, Harsimrat Badal called it an attempt to defame the state. "The youth of Punjab is not in to drugs. Rahul Gandhi, who is accusing the youth of Punjab of being involved in drugs, might be taking drugs himself. The people of Punjab should see and beware of such parties who are defaming our children," she said. Sidhu earlier in the day trained guns at the SAD and stated that the government, which was by the people, has now become a government for a family. Sidhu, who joined the grand old party yesterday, lambasted Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal's government for ruining the state and said that his mission is redemption of Punjab. "This is not my personal fight. This fight is for existence and respect of Punjab which is our pride. This fight is for redemption of Punjab. We must think that how did food bowl of India went bankrupt," Sidhu said. "A government, which was by the people, is now a government for the family. I will expose Badals. I am a soldier ready to fight for Punjab. Akalis were a good group. Now, it's just about a family," he added. (ANI)
