Belagavi (Karnataka) [India], December 27 (ANI): Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, on Thursday, emphasized the importance of bringing in new leadership and empowering the party's organizational structure in order to move forward effectively.
Speaking at the Congress Working Committee's 'Nav Satyagrah Baithak' in Karnataka's Belagavi, Kharge stated that while hard work is essential, a solid strategy and direction are equally important for success.
Kharge highlighted the party's plans to fill organizational vacancies and equip its members with the necessary skills to win elections.
In his remarks shared on X, Kharge said, "Hard work alone is not enough; a time-bound and solid strategy and direction are necessary. There is a need to give a chance to new power and bring forth local and new leadership."
"I want to say that the year 2025 will be the year of our organisational empowerment. We will fill all the vacant posts in the organisation. We will fully implement the Udaipur Declaration. We will equip our organisation with the necessary skills to win elections from AICC to Mandal and booth. We will have to find such people who are ideologically committed. Who are ready to fight to protect the Constitution. Who believe in the Idea of India of the Congress Party. Such people will have to be connected to the party. They will have to be brought into the mainstream. They will have to be involved and connected in the activities of the organization," he wrote on X.
The CWC meeting was held to commemorate the birth centenary of Mahatma Gandhi during the presidency of AICC at the Belgaum session.
Kharge also praised the legacies of Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru, stressing that the Congress would return from Belgaum with a renewed message and resolve.
He added, "We have the power of ideas, the legacy of Gandhi-Nehru and the heritage of great leaders. We will return from Belgaum with a new message and a new resolve. That is why we named this meeting 'Nav Satyagraha' because today, even His Excellency (PM Modi) holding a constitutional post is raising questions on the Satyagraha of Mahatma Gandhi."
Kharge accused the BJP of "spreading lies" and urged Congress workers to "expose and defeat" them. "Those who have taken an oath on the Constitution are the ones spreading lies. Those in power take the help of falsehood and accuse us. We have to expose and defeat such people," he said.
He concluded by quoting Gandhiji, "Truth survives even when it does not have public support. We have the truth and crores of people behind us." (ANI)
