Hafiz Saeed 'misusing' and 'defaming' Islam, says JD (U)
New Delhi, Aug. 19 (ANI): Criticising the Jamaat-ud-Dawah (JuD) chief Hafiz Saeed after Dargah-e-Ala Hazrat of Bareilly issued a fatwa against him and declared him anti-Islamic , Janata Dal United JD (U) leader Ali Anwar on Friday said that the former is trying to 'misuse' and 'defame' Islam. "Of course it is anti-Islamic, these things are not mentioned in Islam. He is misusing Islam, trying to defame it and things like this will be criticised by all of us," Anwar told ANI. On the Kashmir unrest he questioned the seriousness of Prime Minster Narendra Modi saying, "The Prime Minister didn't speak a word or console the children for those killed in Kashmir and has lost their faith through his Independence Day speech. So, by this we get to know that there are some flaws." He said the unrest in Kashmir Valley is a matter of great concern, but it seems the government doesn't want to have serious talks on it. "Everybody gave their support at the all party meeting to the government for intensifying efforts of winning the hearts of the people of Kashmir and to heal their wounds. Then only will we be able to give a proper answer to Pakistan and their entire conspiracy will be thwarted," he added. The Dargah-e-Ala Hazrat on Thursday issued a fatwa against Hafiz Saeed, declaring him anti-Islamic and a man with a terrorist ideology. The fatwa issued by Mohammed Saleem Barelvi, in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, and has asked every Muslim not to follow Saeed and his idelogies. The 'fatwa' was issued by Manzar-e-Islam Saudagaran, an institution associated with Dargah Ala Hazrat, in a reply to a question asked by Mohammad Moinuddin of Jaipur. Barelvi, in his letter, had written that Saeed encourages people to kill and undertake terrorist activities and questioned whether such a person has the right to call himself a Muslim. (ANI)
