New Delhi [India], Apr 19 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said that the implementation of Good and Services Tax (GST) has brought transparency in doing business.
Addressing a convention of traders here, Prime Minister Modi said: "Transparency in trade has increased and there is one nation one tax with the implementation of Goods and Services Tax (GST)."
PM Modi said, "I am thankful to all traders for contributing to the development of the nation...In the past five years, I have worked for the development of the country, therefore, I want everyone to work tension-free."
"I am impressed with the hard work of traders. I am not saying this because of the election. Traders are like weather forecaster who can anticipate future tidings, " the Prime Minister added.
Hitting out at the Congress Party, PM Modi said, "Traders were accused under the UPA government for causing inflation and it was a problem every trader had to face."
"Previous governments have made living difficult by accusing the traders and wooing other sections. First, you have to fill a lot of forms to file Income-tax returns but now that is reduced," he added.
PM Modi said, "In ease of doing business, India has jumped 65 positions to end at 77th rank globally. In coming years our target is to reach the 50th rank in ease of doing business."
"There is control on price rise as "98 per cent thing is under 18 per cent tax GST slabs," he added.
The Prime Minister said, "The youth have also started to think of innovative ways to develop his business. Mudra Yojna has also helped more than 4.5 crore new entrepreneurs, to get a loan. Through BHIM app we made sure that businessman earned through digital transactions."
PM Modi said, "BJP always work to ensure that traders get loans easily, get easy cash flow, get good market and techniques and minimum government's interference."
PM Modi said, "In MSME sector the government has given special packages. Rs 19,000 crore has been given as loans to boost MSME sector in past five years.
The PM said, "We want to eliminate inspector raj in the country. Income tax assessment process will be without any human interference. We have protested against quota permit and inspector raj, unlike the Congress."
"We have fought against poverty, lack of education, disease and even terrorism," he added.
PM Modi said, "Every day, under Prime Minister Ujwala Yojna, 70,000 gas connections are being given to poor. Under Saubhagya Yojna every day 50,000 people get electricity connections. Under Jan Dhan Yojna 2 lakh people have opened their bank accounts. Under Mudra Yojna 1 lakh people get loans. Under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna 10,000 houses are made every day."
"Without traders, new India will not be made. Even Mahatma Gandhi calls himself a proud trader," the Prime Minister added. (ANI)
