"Great day for Gujarat-Japan relations": CM Patel participates in Gujarat Shizuoka Partnership Day program

Among the key agreements, a friendship pact was established between Gujarat and Shizuoka Prefecture, and another agreement on mutual cooperation was exchanged between the cities of Ahmedabad and Hamamatsu.

Gandhinagar (Gujarat) [India], December 24 (ANI): Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel participated in the Gujarat Shizuoka Partnership Day programme in Gandhinagar on Tuesday and said that five agreements were signed, underscoring the deepening economic, cultural, and strategic ties between Gujarat and Japan.
Among the key agreements, a friendship pact was established between Gujarat and Shizuoka Prefecture, and another agreement on mutual cooperation was exchanged between the cities of Ahmedabad and Hamamatsu.

The signing ceremony took place at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar, with both sides expressing optimism about the future of these partnerships.
Gujarat Chief Minister emphasized the importance of these agreements in fostering stronger bilateral ties, stating, "Today's agreements are a significant milestone in the enduring relationship between Gujarat and Japan."
Taking to his official handle on X, CM Bhupendra Patel said, "A Great Day for Gujarat-Japan Relations! Delighted to welcome HE Suzuki Yasutomo, Governor of Shizuoka Prefecture of Japan and the delegation accompanied him, in Gujarat."

"I am happy to share that today we signed five agreements that mark a significant step in deepening economic, cultural and strategic ties with Japan. Friendship agreement between the State of Gujarat and Shizuoka prefecture and an agreement on mutual cooperation between the cities of Ahmedabad and Hamamatsu were exchanged today at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar," said the post by the Chief Minister.
"Gujarat already has a Sister State agreement with Hyogo prefecture and similarly Ahmedabad and Kobe have signed Sister City agreement. Today's friendship agreements will prove to be a major milestone in deepening Gujarat's enduring relationship with Japan," he said.
The Gujarat Chief Minister also shared an image with the Japanese delegation with the caption, "On Mahatma Gandhi's land with a Japanese delegation. A joyous day of progress and unity!"
Earlier, Gujarat Chief Minister Patel presented the 'Gujarat Sanskrutik Yoddha Puraskar' to eight people from various fields who have made unique contributions to culture, morality, and social values, a press release by the Chief Minister's Office stated.
The award ceremony was organized by the Gujarat State Sangeet Natak Academy in collaboration with the State Government's Sports, Youth, and Cultural Activities Department held at the Convention Hall of Veer Narmad South Gujarat University.
Each recipient was presented with Rs one lakh in cash, a certificate, and a memento by the Chief Minister and Minister of State for Cultural Activities Harsh Sanghavi, said the release. (ANI)
