New Delhi, Aug. 12 (ANI): The government will organize week-long 'Bharat Parv', the Festival of India, in the national capital as part of the Independence Day celebrations from today.

Govt. to hold week-long 'Bharat Parv' in Delhi as part of I-Day celebrations
New Delhi, Aug. 12 (ANI): The government will organize week-long 'Bharat Parv', the Festival of India, in the national capital as part of the Independence Day celebrations from today. Addressing media persons in New Delhi yesterday, Tourism secretary Vinod Zutshi said the prime objective of the festival is to inculcate and celebrate patriotic mood among people across the nation, besides ensuring wider participation by them. The event's venue will be the lawns of the India gate in New Delhi. It would be open for general public from Saturday. The entry will be free and the tagline of the event will be 'Paidal Dekho Hindustan'(See India on Foot). There will be 17 theme state pavilions, where each state would showcase its progress and achievements. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting is setting up a photo exhibition titled 'Azadi sattar(70) saal-Yaad Karo Qurbani' on the celebrations of the 70th Independence Day. Apart from this, there will be a vibrant spectacle of performances by the Armed Forces band, tribal dances and music as well as performances by cultural troupes from states and Union Territories across the nation. Among major attractions of the event will also be the Food Court comprising 50 stalls from the country. (ANI)
