Kannauj (Uttar Pradesh) [India], June 21 (ANI): Samajwadi Party (SP) Chief Akhilesh Yadav claimed that the BJP-led Uttar Pradesh government is proposing to develop industrial regions along the expressway and said it should focus on creating markets for farmers.
Speaking to reporters, the SP chief said, "This government is saying that they will develop industrial regions by the expressway... The Samajwadi Party had started making markets for farmers along the expressway. The BJP should focus on creating markets for the farmers. The markets should be such that every crop is purchased there... Why did they shut down the cow milk plant?... What do these BJPians have to do with any milk products? The people of the BJP do not consume cow milk... They incline cow dung. They like it when cow dung is gifted to them. If you would gift them cow milk products like ghee or curd, they would be upset... They get happy when they are given cow dung..."
Earlier on Friday, Akhilesh Yadav criticised the UP government over governance, infrastructure, and electricity. Yadav alleged that conflicts are happening across several departments, stating, "There is another department responsible for village development. Those who are just roaming around, what work will they actually do? There are conflicts happening across several departments. There are disputes over transfer postings."
Yadav claimed that the state government is misusing public funds. "A separate budget is allocated for the Smart City project. Gorakhpur is the place that gets waterlogged. Even after receiving a budget from Delhi, this government hasn't been able to build proper drainage. They are misusing public funds and acting at whim. You will probably find the missing officials hiding in the Chief Minister's residence."
Speaking on the Purvanchal Expressway, Yadav stated, "When the Agra Expressway was completed, Netaji (Mulayam Singh Yadav) envisioned connecting Azamgarh, Ghazipur, and Ballia. So we announced and laid the foundation for the Purvanchal Expressway. Land acquisition had been completed up to 50%, but then our government didn't return to power. These people came into power and did not build the expressway according to Indian Road Congress standards. They cancelled our tenders and built the expressway using their own contractors without following proper norms."
He further said, "The Samajwadi Party government is going to return. We will rework and rebuild the Purvanchal Expressway. They attached the Gorakhpur Link Expressway to the Purvanchal Expressway. When the Prime Minister landed on the Purvanchal Expressway, he was standing on an achievement that belongs to the Samajwadi Party." (ANI)
