Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) [India], December 10 (ANI): Himachal Pradesh Congress President Pratibha Singh said on Tuesday that the state is performing well under Chief Minister Sukhvinder Sukhu and his Deputy Mukesh Agnihotri and the government has fulfilled its five guarantees during its two-year tenure.
According to the Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee press note, Pratibha Singh has criticized state BJP leaders, stating that they are disrespecting the mandate of the people. She said that the people of the state have given Congress a clear majority to form the government, and any protest by the BJP against the Congress government is an insult to the public mandate.
She also mentioned that under the leadership of Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, the government is performing exceptionally well.
The Congress leader further added that the rally to be held tomorrow in Bilaspur will be historic, where the Congress government will present an account of its two years in office before the people of the state. Additionally, a roadmap for upcoming projects will also be presented.
Pratibha Singh also accused the BJP of being unhappy with the state's progress, which is why they are making baseless statements against the Congress government in an unsuccessful attempt to mislead the public. She claimed that BJP's "Akrosh Rallies" have proven to be a complete flop, as they have failed to garner public support.
Pratibha Singh urged the BJP not to hinder the development of the state for its political interests. She stated that despite a lack of special assistance from the central government, the Congress government in the state is accelerating development with its limited resources. She expressed confidence that the Congress government will successfully complete its tenure and fulfil all promises made to the people, reiterating that Congress delivers what it promises.
Earlier in the day, the BJP held a "Janakrosh Rally" in Shimla, launching a scathing attack on the Congress-led state government as it completed two years in office. Addressing a large gathering in the state capital, senior BJP leaders accused the Congress government of failing to deliver on its promises and indulging in misgovernance.
State BJP Chief Rajiv Bindal accused the Congress government of failing to fulfill its promises made to the people of Himachal Pradesh.
"There is nothing to celebrate during the tenure of Congress in Himachal Pradesh. They have not kept their promises and are instead blaming the BJP for their own mistakes. We are organizing similar protests in all districts and will expose the Congress during the winter session of the Assembly in Dharamshala on December 18. A massive protest is planned for that day," said Bindal while speaking to ANI. (ANI)
