Govt. crying over spilt milk: K T S Tulsi on NBW against Mallya

New Delhi [India], Feb. 1 (ANI): Senior advocate K T S Tulsi has said the non- bailable warrant (NBW) against beleaguered businessman Vijay Mallya in the IDBI Bank loan default case is a cover-up and accused the government of crying over spilt milk after facilitating his exit. "These are futile attempts being made to cover-up their own complicity in his escape, after all the government itself ordered the lookout circle to be withdrawn. Why was it withdrawn?" Tulsi asked. "The only reason was that they wanted to facilitate his exit and now they are crying over spilt milk," he told ANI. A court yesterday issued a non- bailable warrant against Mallya in the IDBI Bank loan default case as the CBI sought his extradition from the UK. The non- bailable warrant was issued after the investigating agency's affidavit provided Mallya's precise address in the UK. The CBI had in its chargesheet last week accused Mallya's Kingfisher Airlines of diverting Rs. 263 crore from Rs. 900 crore IDBI loan for "personal use". Besides Mallya, the agency has in its chargesheet named Kingfisher Airlines and nine others, including the then IDBI chairman Yogesh Aggarwal, arrested in connection with the 2015 loan default case. The CBI has slapped IPC sections related to criminal conspiracy, cheating and provisions of Prevention of Corruption Act on the accused. (ANI)
