Sopore (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], September 7 (ANI): Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday said the Jammu and Kashmir administration is committed to "break the backbone of the terror eco-system" in the Union Territory.
L-G also appealed to people to not provide any kind of "shelter to terrorists" or their associates."Leave rest to police and security forces".
While addressing a public rally in Sopore, Sinha said, "Jammu and Kashmir's administration is committed to breaking the backbone of the terror eco-system, People have collectively decided to deal strictly with conflict profiteers".
He further said that every village, district and city is important in the eyes of the administration in the "war against terrorism".
Coming down heavily against separatists for misguiding the youth of the valley and Sopore for so many years, He said," "Those who misguided youth for decades and turned it into Kandahar (a city in Afghanistan) did great injustice to future generations of this place," he said.
He expressed hope that Sopore will reclaim its lost glory, and emerge as the business hub of UT and the model town of the country.
LG Sinha said the people of the region were living peacefully in the shadow of development brought about by the abrogation of Article 370.
Urging people to cooperate with the government, LG Sinha said that India will be a developed country during the Amrit Kaal- period till 2047.
A massive crackdown launched by investigating agencies against the terror supporters in Jammu and Kashmir post abrogation of Article 370, a temporary provision in the Constitution, has broken the back of separatists and terrorists sponsored by Pakistan.
After August 5, 2019, when the Centre announced its decision to scrap the so-called special status of J-K and bifurcate it into two Union Territories, the security agencies launched an "Operation All Out '' to dismantle the terror ecosystem in the Himalayan region.
Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbagh Singh had said that a total of 186 terrorists, including 56 Pak-based foreign terrorists-- belonging to the proscribed outfit of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM)-- were killed in the year 2022. (ANI)
