"Govt approved 17 bills, will work for development": Maharashtra CM Fadnavis

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis stated that seventeen bills have been approved and that direct money has been transferred into the accounts of 85 lakh farmers.

Nagpur (Maharashtra) [India], December 21 (ANI): Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis stated that seventeen bills have been approved and that direct money has been transferred into the accounts of 85 lakh farmers.
Informing the reporters here after the end of the Maharashtra Winter Assembly Session, CM Fadnavis said, "17 bills have been approved and the government will work for development. A decision has been taken to help orange farmers. It has been decided to help 55 thousand farmers having up to 3 hectares of land. Work is going on to rehabilitate 25 thousand slums in The Sanjay Gandhi National Park (SGNP). "
"Direct money has been transferred into the accounts of 85 lakh farmers (soybean and cotton farmers). The purchase has been started at 557 centres, and will continue till 12 January," Fadnavis added.
Earlier, the Chief Minister also informed the assembly that the Northern part of Gadchiroli was now Naxal free.
"North Part of Gadchiroli district is completely Naxal free. 33 Maoists have been killed, 55 Maoists have been arrested, 33 Maoists have surrendered, in the last year. 1500 youths of Gadchiroli have joined the police force, out of which 33 youths are Naxal victims, the main leader of Maoists Giridhar and his wife have surrendered, Giridhar had recruited the cadre of South Gadchiroli, the government's goal is to eliminate Naxalism in the coming 3 years," he said.
Maharashtra Deputy CM Eknath Shinde stated that 170 projects have been approved by the Maharashtra state government. He also took a dig at the Uddhav Thackery, the former Maharashtra Chief Minister.
"...The proposal to name the Pune airport, Jagadguru Sant Tukaram Maharaj International Airport has been sent to the centre... 170 projects have been approved by our Maharashtra government...," Shinde said.
"Uddhav Thackeray is coming to the session only like a tourist," Shinde said.
The Maharashtra Assembly Election 2024 witnessed a decisive victory for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led Mahayuti alliance, securing a landslide win with 235 seats. The results marked a significant milestone for the BJP, which emerged as the single-largest party with 132 seats.
The Shiv Sena and NCP also made notable gains, with 57 and 41 seats, respectively.
