Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India], July 18 (ANI): Former Chief Minister of Rajasthan and Congress leader Ashok Gehlot on Friday expressed his support for Rahul Gandhi's "witch-hunt" remarks regarding the Enforcement Directorate (ED) chargesheet against his brother-in-law and businessman Robert Vadra.
Gehlot criticised the ED's investigation and further alleged that the central government is misusing various agencies, including the ED, CBI, and the Income Tax department.
"Rahul Gandhi has rightly said, and I have tweeted too, that this method is wrong... It take them (ED) 10 years to investigate?... This government is misusing the Income Tax, ED, and CBI... They will have to pay for their deeds someday," he said.
In a comment on social media X, Gehlot also shared quoting Rahul Gandhi's post, said, "More than a decade has passed, hundreds of hours of questioning, several appearances before the ED, repeated failed attempts to tarnish the family's image, yet no conspiracy was proven, no evidence was found. Even after all this, nothing could be established against Mr. Vadra, so a chargesheet has been filed just to defame. This clearly exposes the malicious intent of the Modi government. The Gandhi family has always faced such politically motivated tactics with strength and resilience and will continue to do so. The entire party and the entire nation stand with them. One day, truth shall prevail."

Earlier today, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi defended his brother-in-law, and said Robert Vadra has been "hounded by this government for the last ten years".
Gandhi called the action a continuation of a "witch hunt" by the government and said he stands with Robert, Priyanka Gandhi, and their children against what he called "malicious, politically motivated harassment." He expressed confidence that the truth will eventually come out.
In a post on X, Rahul Gandhi wrote, "My brother-in-law has been hounded by this government for the last ten years. This latest chargesheet is a continuation of that witch hunt."
"I stand with Robert, Priyanka and their children as they face yet another onslaught of malicious, politically motivated slander and harassment. I know that they are all brave enough to withstand any kind of persecution, and they will continue to do so with dignity. The truth will eventually prevail," the post reads.
