Raipur (Chhattisgarh) [India], September 9 (ANI): After the INDIA alliance won four seats out of seven seats in the bypolls, Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister TS Singh Deo has said that it is good news for the alliance in the coming 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
“It is a matter of happiness that the new alliance that is being formed keeping in mind the current situation of the country and with a view to securing the future, has got the majority support of the people in the bypoll. This indicates that it may be good news for the alliance in the coming Lok Sabha elections,” TS Singh Deo said.
The results for the bypolls in seven Assembly seats across six states — Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Tripura, Kerala — were declared on Friday.
Out of the seven Assembly seats that went to polls, BJP has won three — Boxanagar, Dhanpur and Bageshwar, while INDIA alliance won four — Dumri, Puthupally, Ghosi and Dhupguri.
Meanwhile, former CM of Andhra Pradesh Chandrababu Naidu was arrested by Andhra CID in connection with an alleged corruption case on Saturday.
Deputy CM of Chhattisgarh said "What to say about this government which is continuously taking action from Delhi purely out of political vendetta. For these reasons, the country needs equations like the INDIA alliance and there is an urgent need to rid the country of such a mentality.
Further, on being asked about Rahul Gandhi’s statement in which he has said that due to the privatization of education and health, people are not able to reach it, TS Singh Deo said “This is the right thing, we and you all know that if Rahul ji has raised this matter on the national and international platform, then he is again warning for the times to come. On many occasions, he has many suggestions through his medium. This is another very serious suggestion which we all discuss but also let happen. There is a need to stop privatization in the field of health and education and promote public institutions.”
The Aam Aadmi Party on Friday released its first list of candidates for the upcoming Madhya Pradesh assembly polls.
Deputy CM of Chhattisgarh said, “Best wishes, this is an open platform of politics, we all have to go before the voters and the voters will give their verdict.” (ANI)
