Goa: Union Minister Nitin Gadkari announces construction of 45-km bypass at cost of Rs 3500 crore
Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, on Thursday announced the construction of a 45-km long bypass from Wadgaon to the Karnataka border.
Panaji (Goa) [India], July 11 (ANI): Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, on Thursday announced the construction of a 45-km long bypass from Wadgaon to the Karnataka border.
The project will be constructed at a cost of Rs 3500 crore.
Additionally, the Union Minister also announced the spanning of the Panaji-Belgaum section of NH-748 into 4 laning which will cost Rs 4000 crore.
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari informed this through a post on microblogging site X and wrote, "Announced the construction of a 45 km long bypass from Wadgaon to the Karnataka border at a cost of Rs 3500 crore in Goa today. Additionally, we will undertake the 4-laning of the Panaji-Belgaum section of NH-748. the project spans 53 km and will cost 4000 crore."

Earlier, today, Nitin Gadkari inaugurated a 6-Lane access-controlled roads with elevated viaducts from Manohar International Airport to Dhargal on NH-166S in Goa.
In a social media post on X, he wrote, "The 7 km project, costing Rs1183 crore, promises to significantly improve connectivity to Manohar International Airport, facilitating faster and hassle-free travel. This development is expected to enhance tourism activities and provide a boost to multi-modal connectivity, thereby reducing logistics costs."

Notably, the Union Minister is on his Goa tour, commenced on July 11.
On July 12, he will review the progress of National Highways Projects commenced in the state of Gao and after that he will address the BJP Goa State Executive Meeting. (ANI)
