Begusarai (Bihar) [India], Apr 28 (ANI): Hours after Congress’ Digvijay Singh announced that CPI leader Kanhaiya Kumar will campaign for him in Bhopal, Union Minister Giriraj Singh took at dig at the veteran leader saying there were many people with distorted thinking in Begusarai, so it would be a good idea to take such people along with him.
"Digvijay babu is confused and is full of distortions. He used to influence Rahul's thinking as well. There are many people with distorted thinking in Begusarai. It is good that he is taking such people with him to Bhopal," Giriraj Singh told ANI here.
Earlier in the day, Digvijay Singh had announced that CPI candidate from Begusarai, Kanhaiya Kumar, will campaign for him on May 8 and 9. Singh is contesting against BJP's Pragya Singh Thakur in Bhopal.
On RJD leader Misa Bharti's jibe about his contesting from Begusarai instead of Nawada, Giriraj Singh said: "Misa Bharti ji is trying to present Begusarai as Pakistan saying that Giriraj Singh has been sent to Pakistan. Misa Bharti can abuse me or my father but she should not insult Begusarai. Begusarai can never become Pakistan."
"Begusarai is a land of religion, Ganga, and development. My party has sent me to crush those heads that rise to turn Begusarai into Pakistan," he said.
The Union Minister had successfully contested from Nawada constituency in 2014 but the party replaced him with another candidate. He has been fielded against Kanhaiya Kumar in Begusarai.
Singh also hit out at a Digvijay's remark that there would have been no need of surgical strikes if Pragya Singh Thakur had cursed Pakistan based terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad’s chief Masood Azhar.
"In 2008 the government showed its impotency when 26/11 attack happened. Had they acted against Pakistan then Narendra Modi would not have needed to conduct surgical strikes," the Union Minister said.
"Pakistan also knows that it can never repeat the same mistake. The first airstrike took place in Rawalpindi, if they commit the same mistake again, even the border will be wiped off,” he said.  (ANI)
