Mau (Uttar Pradesh) [India], September 5 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Dara Singh Chouhan, a candidate for the Ghosi by-elections in Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday said that his party will get the majority in the poll when the results are out on September 8.
Talking to ANI, Singh said that he could see people’s trust in the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adiyanath.
"I can see that all the people in the Vidhan Sabha are preparing to vote for BJP. It shows how people here have shown trust in the leadership of PM Modi and how UP saw development in the leadership of CM Yogi...When the results are out on September 8, BJP will win elections with a majority,” the BJP leader said.
Notably, voting for the Ghosi assembly seat is underway as it was necessitated due to the resignation of Dara Singh who was elected as Ghosi MLA on a Samajwadi Party symbol in the 2022 UP assembly elections but later resigned from the post and joined the BJP.
After forming a mega alliance ‘INDIA’, the bye-election to the constituency of Ghosi in Uttar Pradesh will be the first show of strength for the opposition as the Congress, Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD), Apna Dal Kameravadi has decided not to field a candidate of their own and chose to extend support to Samajwadi Party candidate Sudhakar Singh.
However, 21.57 per cent voter turnout was recorded till 11 am for the Ghosi assembly bye-election, the Election Commission of India said. (ANI)
