"From security to health, all arrangements are in place": UP Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak as Maha Kumbh begins

The Maha Kumbh 2025 began on Monday, with 6 million devotees already taking a holy dip in the Sangam by 9:30 AM, according to the Uttar Pradesh government.

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], January 13 (ANI): As Maha Kumbh Mela commenced on Monday, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak welcomed all the devotees and emphasized that the state government has made all the arrangements from security to health.
"I wholeheartedly welcome all the devotees. The Uttar Pradesh Government has made complete arrangements. From security to health, all arrangements are in place. The government has made all necessary preparations to handle every situation," Pathak told ANI.
The Maha Kumbh 2025 began on Monday morning, with over six million devotees taking a holy dip in the Sangam by 9:30 AM, according to the Uttar Pradesh government.
Devotees have gathered from around the world to bathe at the sacred confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the mystical Saraswati rivers at Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj. The first major Shahi Snan, or Amrit Snan, will take place on Tuesday during Makar Sankranti.
The 45-day religious event is expected to witness the largest-ever human gathering, with over four million people to attend.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday praised the beginning of Maha Kumbh 2025 in Prayagraj, calling it a proud symbol of India's spiritual and cultural heritage, embodying the essence of "unity in diversity."
"The world's largest spiritual and cultural gathering, Mahakumbh 2025, commenced on Monday in the sacred city of Prayagraj. On this auspicious occasion, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath extended a warm welcome to devotees, saints, mahatmas, kalpvasis, and visitors, wishing them well for the first holy dip of Mahakumbh," as per an official release.
He expressed his hope that the wishes of all those seeking spiritual fulfilment through meditation and bathing in the sacred waters of the Ganga would be realized.
The Maha Kumbh is being celebrated after 12 years, and over 450 million devotees are expected for the event. The Maha Kumbh will conclude on February 26. (ANI)
