Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India], November 20 (ANI): With Prime Minister Narendra Modi holding roadshows and targeting Congress in his rallies on the issue of corruption and crimes against women in Rajasthan. While the Congress' key campaigners focused on the gurantees to woo voters to retain power in the state.
Political parties are leaving no stone unturned for the Rajasthan assembly elections that is scheduled to be held on November 25.
PM Narendra Modi held a roadshow at Bikaner in Rajasthan on Monday displaying party's popularity.
Equating Diwali, which symbolizes lightness over darkness, with the upcoming Assembly election in Rajasthan this week, Prime Minister Narendra Modi called it a 'Diwali of democracy' and urged people to ensure that the Congress party is swept out of every corner.
"You tell me, does the Congress, which does not care about your life, have the right to remain in power for even a single day? Diwali has just passed. Our mothers and sisters work 15-16 hours at home. But when Diwali comes, they even clean the corners of the house. This election is also the Diwali of democracy. Sweep out the Congress in such a way that this Congress is not left even in any corner," PM Modi said.
He said the entire story of what has happened here in Rajasthan in the last 5 years is written in the 'Red Diary'. "The diary is red. (But) the deeds are black," he added.
In the Pali district of Rajasthan, PM Modi lashed out at Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot for his remarks in connection with crimes against women in the state.
"Congress has made Rajasthan number one in crimes against women. The CM says that the complaints filed by the women are fake. Can it ever happen that a woman in our country files a fake case? The CM should say that a probe is underway, and not that the cases filed are fake. Isn't this an insult to women?" PM Modi said.
Continuing his attack against the grand old party, he said," Nothing is more important than corruption and familial politics for Congress. This party doesn't think of anything other than appeasement politics."
"Unfortunately, the development of the State was stalled under the five years of Congress rule," PM Modi alleged.
Union Minister Smriti Irani who also conducted a roadshow at Shahpura, Rajasthan told ANI, "The workers of Congress showed interest in BJP's roadshow, this shows that there is a BJP wave in Rajasthan. Congress workers are also shouting 'Modi, Modi', this shows how the Modi magic is working. This is not a crowd; they are citizens who have decided to form the BJP government. politics of convenience... Questions are raised as to why the female Congress leadership keeps silent on such issues."
Congress, on the other hand, gave it back to the saffron party where they said that middle-class people and farming communities have badly suffered under the two terms of the BJP at the centre.
Addressing an election rally in Kekri, Sachin Pilot said," This week you (people) have to decide your future for the next five years. BJP has been at the centre for the past 10 years. Middle-class society, farming community and especially low-income farmers are suffering under BJP's rule."
Sachin Pilot further stated that for every valid question on issues of the public, the BJP has an answer ready on the religious lines.
"They (BJP) have destroyed the future of the army by introducing an agniveer scheme, they introduced three black laws for farmers, when we ask them why did you do that? They say 'Mandir-Masjid'. On every issue when we ask questions, BJP brings Hindu-Muslim angle," he said.
Congress party chief Mallikarjun Kharge on Monday announced seven guarantees for economic empowerment dedicated to the progress and prosperity of Rajasthan as part of the Congress manifesto in the state.
Addressing a rally in Anupgarh, Rajasthan, the party chief said that Congress is completely dedicated to the progress and prosperity of Rajasthan.
"The Congress party's social justice schemes and seven guarantees of economic empowerment are eradicating inequality in Rajasthan and will make Rajasthan more prosperous," Kharge added.
Kharge further mentioned that the Congress party's guarantee manifesto for Rajasthan includes giving Rs 10,000 every year to the female head of the family under the Griha Lakshmi Yojana guarantee, procuring cow dung at Rs 2 kg under the Gowdhan guarantee and giving free laptops and tablets to first-year government college students.
Rajasthan will go to the polls on November 25, and the counting of votes will be held on December 3 along with the other four states: Mizoram, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, and Madhya Pradesh.
In the 2018 assembly elections, the Congress won 99 seats, while the BJP won 73 seats in the 200-member House. Gehlot eventually took the oath as CM with the support of BSP MLAs and Independents. (ANI)
