New Delhi, [India], Mar 12 (ANI): Trinamool Congress' former MP Anupam Hazra joined BJP on Tuesday in the presence of BJP leaders Kailash Vijayvargiya and Mukul Roy.
In addition to Hazra, Congress MLA Dulal Chandra Bar and CPM MLA Khagen Murmu also joined the BJP.
Hazra, while thanking TMC chief Mamata Banerjee for giving him a political platform, alleged that he was made politically handicapped.
“I am a professor of social works. Mamata Banerjee gave me a platform and I am grateful to her for that. I was made politically handicapped after joining (TMC). I was pressurized to do what was told by the party and not what people wanted. I am the first Indian MP who exhausted Members of Parliament Local Area Development Division (MPLAD) but not a single inauguration was done by me. That is enough for you to guess, how the administration is running there,” Hazra told ANI.
Anupam also claimed big gains for the BJP saying the people are fine with any party but the TMC. “What happened in 2009? People were fed up of CPM and wanted anyone but CPM. Now, they want anyone but TMC. When people are fed up, government’s days get numbered,” he said.
Meanwhile, Mukul Roy, who facilitated the entry of the three leaders, claimed that there is an anti-Mamata wave in West Bengal.
Hazra was expelled from the TMC for allegedly indulging in anti-party activities. (ANI)
