FICCI Awards change makers in chemicals industry

FICCI Awards change makers in chemicals industry
Mumbai [India], Sept. 3 (ANI): The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) awarded the change makers in the Chemicals and Petrochemicals industry during the ongoing ninth edition of India Chem at Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai. The FICCI Chemicals and Petrochemicals award is an initiative to acknowledge the industry players working incessantly towards bringing a constructive change in the sector. The FICCI Chemicals and Petrochemicals award ceremony recognizes the leaders who ensured sustainable growth in the Chemicals industry of India and set benchmarks for the others to follow. The awards were given in 10 different categories. The awards also recognized the industry leaders for their distinguished contribution in the chemicals sector. R Gopalakrishnan, former chairman, Tata Chemical and Manish Panchal from TSMG for Chemical Industry, Nikhil R Meswani, Executive Director, RIL for Petrochemicals Industry, R G Agrawal, Chairman, Dhanuka Agritech Ltd for Agrochemicals Industry and Mr. S V Kabra, Founder Chairman, KET Group for Plastics industry were awarded for their notable contributions. Speaking on the occasion Vinay Mathur, Deputy Secretary General, FICCI said, "It is our humble endeavor to honor the industry players for their indigenous efforts into the arena of chemicals industry. FICCI award chooses the best in the industry for bringing positive change through continuous efforts and novelty of ideas. He added, "It is time to harbor innovation in the Indian chemicals industry to make it attractive for foreign investors. The award is one of our many steps in the direction of creating an eco system of growth and development for the Indian chemicals sector along with Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals, Government of India." In pursuit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's initiative of 'Make in India', the ninth edition of the mega event 'India Chem 2016' is being jointly organized by Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Government. of India along with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) from September 1-3, 2016 at Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai, India, with the theme "India Chem 2016 - Exploring Opportunities". The objective of the event is to develop the Indian Chemical and Petrochemical Industry and enhancing trade between India and Foreign Chemical and Petrochemical industry and "Swachh Bharat (Clean India)" campaign of Government of India. The largest event of Chemicals and Petrochemical Industry in India, in its ninth edition i.e. India Chem 2016 was organized from 1st - 3rd September 2016 jointly by the Department of Chemicals & Petrochemicals, Government of India and FICCI. The most important objective behind organizing the India Chem event is to highlight the investment possibilities in the country's chemical industry and give a fillip to "Make in India" initiative of the Government of India. Leading companies from India as well as from all over the world predominantly from China, Japan, Iran, Turkey, United Kingdom, Italy, Russia, Spain, Germany and South East Asian countries are participating as exhibitors, delegates and visitors.
