Mangaluru (Karnataka) [India], April 14 (ANI): With Prime Minister Narendra Modi slated to visit Mangaluru on Sunday, a large number of women are all set to welcome him, saying "Solmelu Modi Ji", Kannada for "Thank you, Modi" for the work done by the Prime Minister for women and the respect given to them, Captain Brijesh Chowta said.
"This government has given Samman (respect) to people. I truly believe that the blessings of women, the blessings of the Nari Shakti of this nation will give more power to PM Modi," said BJP Dakshin Kannada candidate Brijesh Chowta in an exclusive interview with ANI.
Exuding confidence in the support shown by women voters to PM Modi, Chowta said, "I have requested all women of Dakshin Kannada to run a campaign called Nari Shakti Bhoot Shakti. After making this appeal I am going to every village. I see every woman coming out and showing their blessing and their love towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi."
"If there is one section of people who love Modi ji, it is the women of this country. I truly feel if there is a survey conducted among women, more than 90 per cent of women will prefer PM Modi. They say Modi ji is their preferred choice and they love the Prime Minister and feel that they are Modi parivar. So I appealed to my constituency, that all women, all the mothers should come out and vote for Modi ji. The first nine votes in every booth should be like the Nav Durgas coming to bless our Prime Minister," the BJP Dakshin Kannada candidate said.
Brijesh Chowta posted on 'X' before PM Modi's arrival, "With all my heart I welcome our Commander-in-Chief our PM Shri @narendramodi to our Tulunadu, the land of temples, traditions and timelessness. #SolmeluModiji for choosing me as your Fauji to fight this battle in #DakshinaKannada and for gracing us all with this Roadshow."
In another post on 'X', Chowta posted a video of some people, especially women, gearing up to thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi when the latter comes to Dakshin Kannada for a roadshow.
"The mood in our city is festive as Mangaluru gears up to say #SolmeluModiji for gracing us with his presence. A glimpse of people from across various walks of life who are elated that our beloved PM Shri @narendramodi will be here in #DakshinaKannada for a #Roadshow," Chowta said.
Speaking to ANI, the BJP leader said that he believed that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) empowers women and gives opportunities to youngsters coming from various walks of life in the party.
"From a youngster coming from a very ordinary family, from a lower middle-class family, after having served in the Indian Army as a soldier, I truly feel that this is a party that empowers women. It is a party for youngsters. It gives opportunities to people who have worked in different walks of life...Bhartiya Janata Party truly believes in the principle of democracy and it ensures that people from different walks of life coming to public life are given opportunities in policy-making," Chowta said.
