New Delhi [India], October 14 (ANI): Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot said on Saturday that this time tickets to the candidates for the upcoming state elections will be given only on the basis of feedback from the people received by the Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee (RPCC).
"The screening committee of the RPCC has done the survey they have been given the right to go to the districts and take feedback from the people. Yesterday, the party chief (Mallikarjun Kharge) asked everyone to come to Delhi and give their opinions to the committee chairman," said Gehlot.
"The tickets would be distributed purely on the basis of the feedback received," he added.
The Rajasthan CM further said that there is no wave against his government in the state and people have no complaints from the government.
"There is no wave against the government. People have no complaints from us. And if there is a complaint against an MLA, we are going to go to that particular constituency, we will take feedback," said Gehlot.
"Everything would depend on the feedback. The tickets would be given only on the basis of winability. The screening committee will prioritise that only," he added.
The Rajasthan Assembly consists of 200 seats that will be contested on November 25, 2023.
Congress secured a victory in the last elections in 2018 with 101 seats.
The Congress is yet to release its list of candidates in the state while the BJP has released its first list fielding as many as 7 MPs in the assembly polls in Rajasthan.
The Congress will begin its election campaign for the upcoming assembly election in Rajasthan on October 16 with "Kaam Kiya Dil se, Congress Sarkar Phir se" as its slogan, state party president Govind Singh Dotasra said on Sunday. (ANI)
