Farm loan waiver: Maharashtra to launch mobile app to help farmers

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], July27 (ANI): Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Thursday announced that the state government would soon launch a mobile app for farmers to apply online for the loan waiver and for this, the government has opened nearly 26,000 facilitation centers to help them fill the forms.

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], July27 (ANI): Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Thursday announced that the state government would soon launch a mobile app for farmers to apply online for the loan waiver and for this, the government has opened nearly 26,000 facilitation centers to help them fill the forms. "We are launching mobile app for this in two to three days so that the farmers can fill this form on their mobile phones," he said/ The Maharashtra government had earlier expanded the ambit of its loan waiver scheme to include even those farmers who had taken loans after 2008. Earlier, the loan waiver scheme, titled the 'Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Sanman Yojana', covered only those farmers who have the loan outstanding between April 1, 2012 and June 30, 2016. (ANI)
