"False, unfounded, and baseless...": Shambhavi Chaudhary on allegations made by Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor

Patna (Bihar) [India], September 29 (ANI): Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) MP Shambhavi Chaudhary responded to allegations made by Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor on Monday, dismissing them as baseless and unfounded.
Speaking to reporters in Patna, Chaudhary stated that in politics, especially during elections, allegations and counter-allegations are common, and people use them to stay relevant in the media.
"In politics, and especially when elections come, allegations and counter-allegations are made against everyone; this is nothing new. People use it as a weapon to maintain their relevance in the media," she remarked.
Prashant Kishor recently alleged that a trust associated with Chaudhary's family received a donation of Rs 100 crore. Kishor demanded that the individuals associated with the trust, including Chaudhary's mother-in-law, disclose the source of their income.
Shambhavi Chaudhary refuted the allegations, saying that Kishor repeatedly makes such claims without any basis. She emphasised that her family has presented their views on the allegations, and there's no truth to Kishor's claims. Chaudhary also suggested that Kishor's allegations are a tactic to gain media attention.
"My father, my mother-in-law, and I have presented our views on the allegations made by him, but the way he is repeatedly making allegations, we are saying again that there is no basis for all these allegations... It becomes easy to make such allegations against anyone during elections. From our side, we can say that all these allegations are false, unfounded, and baseless...," said Shambhavi Chaudhary.
Earlier, Bihar Minister and JD-U leader and Shambhavi's father, Ashok Choudhary, had given defamation notice to Jan Suraaj Party (JSP) founder Prashant Kishor, accusing him of making a new set of "wild, frivolous and defamatory allegations".
The notice, sent by Ashok Choudhary's lawyer, states that either Prashant Kishor should provide proof to support his allegations or issue an unconditional apology for "causing irreparable harm and besmirching the reputation of my client" within one week of the receipt of legal notice.
The notice states that if it is not done, Choudhary will initiate appropriate criminal proceedings and a civil suit for damages amounting to Rs 100 crore in Bihar. The notice states that Kishor made "defamatory statements" at a press conference held in Patna on September 19, 2025.
It mentions that Chaudhary has served the public for over three decades, earning a reputation for his commitment and leadership. Apart from his various roles as a political leader, the notice notes his academic qualifications and his invitation to the Harvard University campus to present a paper.
The notice says that Kishor had made "corruption" allegations against Chaudhary and accused the Jan Suraj leader of resorting to "a blatant lie" "It is made clear in absolute, unequivocal terms that my client has no involvement whatsoever with the functioning of or, for that matter, with assets and liabilities of MVV Nyas," the notice states, while also rejecting other allegations.
The notice says that the statements made by Kishor in his press conference "are completely fallacious, unfounded, misleading, and highly scandalous" and had been made with "malicious intent of tarnishing and maligning my client's reputation".
The notice also refers to a previous defamation case filed by Chaudhary against Kishor. It states that the competent court has issued a notice to the Jan Suraaj leader in that case.
The notice accuses Kishor of "running a motivated campaign" against Chaudhary. "You have caused irreparable harm and besmirched the reputation and standing of my client just to attain relevance in the state politics," the notice states.
Prashant Kishor, however, stands by his allegations and has demanded that Chaudhary's family members prove the legitimacy of their wealth. Kishor has also threatened to reveal more financial irregularities, worth Rs 500 crore, if Chaudhary doesn't withdraw the defamation notice he received.
Political parties in Bihar are gearing up for assembly polls expected to be held later this year. (ANI)
