Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], Mar 24 (ANI): Republican Party of India (RPI) leader Ramdas Athawale on Sunday claimed that Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has assured him that his Rajya Sabha term will be continued.
“Yesterday Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadanvis assured me that my Rajya Sabha term will be continued and that he will try to get me a Cabinet berth or independent charge at the Centre," he said while talking to ANI.
His statement comes after it was reported on Saturday that a group of ‘upset’ leaders from different allies of the BJP on Saturday met Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and decided to stay with the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
Sources said that these leaders discussed the issues related to seat sharing in the state. They were not happy with the seat-sharing as finalised by BJP and Shiv Sena.
The leaders who met Chief Minister Fadnavis included Ramdas Athawale of the Republican Party of India, Mahadev Jankar of the Rashtriya Samaj Paksha, Sadhabhu Khot of Rayat Kranti Sanghtana, and Vinayak Mete of Shiv Sangram. (ANI)

TMC's jibe at Centre amid LPG crisis due to West Asia conflict

In an 'X' post, TMC said the government has "ek hi naara, line mein rahe desh bechara," pointing to past governmental measures including demonetisation, the COVID-19 vaccine rollout, the Special Identification Registration (SIR), and now the LPG shortage. The party described demonetisation as a "Tughlaqi farman" that forced ordinary citizens to wait in serpentine queues outside banks and ATMs for days to access their own money.
