"Exit polls said the same thing as BJP leaders," says Congress' Jitu Patwari

"The exit polls said the same thing as the BJP leaders. It means that the perception formed towards the creator of exit polls that it is a manipulation, its impact was seen once again in the entire procedure. There are different stories of the exit polls. In seats where they (BJP) were getting four seats, exit polls showed six seats; where the party contested on three seats, exit polls showed six seats," Patwari said while addressing a press conference in Bhopal.

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], June 3 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Congress chief Jitu Patwari on Monday criticised the exit poll predictions, saying that it said the same thing as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders.
He further said that many discrepancies were seen in the exit polls and the truth of the exit polls would be revealed in the next 18 hours.
He further said, "There were many discrepancies seen in the exit polls. When we talked in the context of Madhya Pradesh, we contested a good election on 12-13 seats. We have maximum chances to win them but exit polls are opposite our expectation. The truth of these exit polls will be revealed in 18 hours."
The Congress party is not demoralised with the exit polls at all. Congress workers are neither disappointed nor disheartened about these exit polls, the Congress leader added.
Patwari also said that the Congress party would win more than 295 seats in the Lok Sabha elections 2024.
According to the exit polls prediction released on Saturday, the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance is poised to retain power at the Centre with a thumping majority and register its third straight win in the Lok Sabha polls.
The exit polls predicted that the ruling BJP-led NDA is poised to improve its performance over its 2019 record when it won 352 seats. Two exit polls predicted the BJP would also improve its numbers from the 303 seats it won in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.
The BJP-led NDA improved its numbers in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls compared to the 2014 election. It is again poised for an upward trajectory, the exit polls predicted.
The pollsters gave varying numbers to the INDIA bloc, a grouping of parties opposed to the BJP, but predicted that it would perform better than the Congress-led UPA in 2019. Lok Sabha elections 2024 was conducted in seven phases, in a six-week marathon running from April 19 to June 1. The pollings were held on April 19 April 26, May 7, May 13, May 20, May 25 and June 1
The counting of votes will be held on June 4.
The exit poll outcome was declared after the conclusion of polling for the seventh and final phase of Lok Sabha polls on Saturday. (ANI)
