Ex-CM Manjhi targets Bihar Govt. over bail for Rocky Yadav
Patna (Bihar) [India], Oct. 20 (ANI): Former Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi on Thursday targeted the Nitish Kumar-led state government over the Patna High Court's order to grant bail to Rocky Yadav---who is an accused in a road rage case---and said there is some fault on part of the administration. While speaking to ANI, Manjhi said Rocky got bail because the details of the incident were not presented properly. "I just want to say that Manorama ji should not have gone to jail. What was her fault? The case is not just about Rocky ji. There are other cases like that of Shahabuddin and Rajballabh Yadav in which the high court has granted bail. If in such cases, bails are being granted, it means there's some fault on the part of the state government," he added. Manjhi also appealed to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to give justice to the victim's family. "Today, I saw the mother of Aditya Sachdeva on television, and she was saying that Nitish Kumar assured them that they will get justice. I don't know what will they decide, but the assurance which he gave, he should make sure he does that." Manjhi said. Earlier in the day, the Bihar Government decided to move the Supreme Court against the Patna High Court's decision to grant bail to former Janata Dal (United) MLC Manorama Devi's son, who was arrested in May for shooting a college student in Bihar in a case of road rage. Rocky Yadav, the son of the suspended JD (U) MLC and gangster Bindi Yadav, had gunned down 16-year-old Aditya Sachdeva who had allegedly overtaken Rocky's SUV while he was coming back home from a birthday party. When Aditya and his friends overtook Rocky's SUV, an angry Rocky chased them and then gunned down Aditya. After the incident, Rocky had gone on the run. Few days after the gruesome killing, Rocky was arrested by the Gaya police from a factory owned by Rocky's father. Following the bail granted by the Patna High Court, Rocky is expected to be out of jail within one or two days. Rocky was granted bail by the Chief Justice Iqbal Ahmed Ansari Wednesday evening. With the news of Rocky getting bail, the family members of Aditya are in a state of shock. His parents, who were also arrested in connection with the road rage case, had also been released on bail earlier. (ANI)
