"Everyone, including youth, mothers, farmers, voting for NDA": CM Yogi Adityanath in Bettiah

Bettiah (Bihar) [India], November 6 (ANI): As voting for the first phase of the Bihar Assembly elections is underway across 121 constituencies, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday expressed confidence that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will secure 100 out of 121 seats in the first phase of the Bihar Assembly elections, while criticising the opposition for Bihar's past law and order situation and lack of development under RJD and Congress rule.
Addressing a rally in Bettiah, CM Yogi said, "The first phase of voting is ongoing in Bihar. Everyone, including youth, mothers, and farmers, is voting for the NDA. Votes are being cast in 121 seats today, and the trends are indicating that the NDA will win 100 seats."
He added that if the same momentum continues in the second phase of polling, scheduled for November 11, "Mahagathbandhan will be defeated."
Recalling Bihar's rich cultural legacy, CM Yogi said, "Bihar, known for its glorious history and legendary stories, struggled for its identity during the Congress and RJD government. Bihar lagged in development during the Congress and during the RJD government, Jugle Raj came here."
Highlighting the deterioration of law and order under previous regimes, he remarked, "Incidents of caste-based violence, theft and burglary, and kidnapping increased here. 30,000 kidnapping incidents were seen during the RJD's government."
Comparing it with the changes brought about under NDA governance, CM Yogi highlighted the improved law and order, as well as development in terms of connectivity, education, and infrastructure.
"In 2005, when the NDA government was formed under the leadership of Nitish Kumar, law and order improved drastically. Today, Bihar has better road, rail, and air connectivity, and metro operations are functional. People have access to water, electricity, and food. The poor are covered under Rs 5 lakh health insurance, and gas connections have reached every household."
He also targeted the opposition alliance, saying, "The Mahagathbandhan, comprising RJD and Congress, has only made fake promises. The NDA, on the other hand, has fulfilled every commitment made to the people."
The first phase of the 2025 Assembly elections in Bihar commenced on Thursday at 7:00 am across 121 constituencies in 18 districts of the state, covering approximately 3.75 crore electors.
Polling will conclude at 6 pm, and due to security considerations, polling time has been curtailed to 5 pm in some constituencies.
The first phase will decide the fate of several senior leaders, including RJD's Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, BJP leaders Samrat Choudhary and Mangal Pandey and JD(U)'s Shravan Kumar and Vijay Kumar Choudhary. Tej Pratap Yadav is also in the fray in the first phase.
In 2020, polling took place in three phases. The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) had secured 125 seats, while the opposition won 110. Among the major parties, the Janata Dal (United) bagged 43 seats, the BJP bagged 74, the RJD secured 75 seats and the Congress 19.
The JD(U) contested 115 constituencies, and the BJP 110, whereas the RJD contested 144 seats and the Congress 70. (ANI)
